Tips for applying
We are always on the lookout for skilled, passionate and driven individuals from all over the world to come and be a part of Roland.
Below, you can gain valuable insight into what our standard recruitment process looks like, what to expect and some tips on how to apply for one of our vacancies.
-
Is Roland what you're looking for?
As much as we are looking for an ideal candidate when recruiting for a position with us, it is equally important that we are ticking your boxes as an employer.
Before you apply, we recommend that you take a look at our company website so you can get a better idea of us as a company, what we want to accomplish and what it's like to work for us. You should also explore our current vacancies and pay attention to the advertised job descriptions. Does this role sound like you? Will it challenge you? Will you feel fulfilled in this position? This will also be the criteria that the hiring manager/s will assess you on, so don't overlook it.

Applying for a position
Once you are happy that we are a good match for each other, head over to the vacancies section and click "Apply Now!" on the job post that you are interested in.
You will need to upload a copy of your CV, submit a cover letter, answer a few simple questions and leave your contact information so we can get in touch with you.
Effort is key here, as this stage will form our first impressions of you. Take the time to carefully consider your application and show us why you are the person for the role. It's pretty obvious when someone has tailored their application to the position/company and it shows us that you care about getting the job. It's also just as obvious when an application is a copy & paste of a previous one and that can give the opposite impression.

The Interviews
The first stage of our interview process is typically carried out via video link and is held by the hiring manager and a member of our HR team. This interview gives us the opportunity to get to know more about you and gives you a chance to let your personality shine!
If successful and dependent on the role, we may ask you to complete a personality questionnaire and/or a competency-based task.
The second stage interview is often held face-to-face (where possible) at one of our offices across Europe. During this interview, we want to dive deeper into who you are and what drives you. We can discuss the role in more detail and you can ask us any questions you may have about what it's like to work for Roland.
We want you to feel as confident and comfortable as possible during this process so if you have any questions for us, please contact our HR team who will be able to help. If you have a disability and require any support (for example, a speech-to-text communication or access into our office) please let us know prior to your interview so we can take care of any arrangements.
TOP TIPS
- Take a deep breath and relax. We are not here to make you feel uncomfortable we just want to get to know you. We understand that this is a nerve-wracking experience but just try and channel those nerves and stay calm, we want you to put your best foot forward.
- Don't rush - listen to the questions we are asking, consider your answer carefully and keep on topic. What is your best example of what's being asked? Does it fully answer the question? If you didn't quite hear the question or need it to be asked in a different way, just ask us!
- Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. We've all heard this before but it's so true. Take the time to think about the questions we may ask you at your interview. If it's the first stage, have you tested your webcam and microphone to make sure they are working? If it's a second stage, do you know what route you need to take to the office so you can arrive on time? If you are unsure about anything, you can always contact our HR team.

The final stages
Once the two-stage process has concluded, our hiring team will take some time to evaluate each candidate and make a decision. If you were unsuccessful we will always get in touch to let you know. We think that feedback is very important and want to give candidates an explanation as to how we reached our final decision.
If we make you an offer, an offer letter and contract of employment will be with you as soon as possible. Prior to your start date with us, we want to keep in touch with you so we can start your onboarding process and prepare you for your first day at Roland.
If there is anything else you would like to know about our recruitment process or any of our current vacancies, please get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
